Responsible for a 50 man homeless veterans housing unit. Maintain order and enforce rules of the program. Drug and alcohol testing as needed. Monitor meds and ensure narcotic medications are not being abused. Enter data into HMIS (homeless management information system). Give counseling as needed. Help with problem solving and assist with transitioning back into self sufficiency. Enter, maintain and evaluate data on the homeless population. Design promotional materials for various programs. Solely responsible for preparing both international and international ITAR shipping documentation according to US Customs guidelines. Interact with customs brokers in obtaining information for completing and registering ITN numbers. Coordinate with company liaisons and lawyers as well as brokers in problem solving with complex and/or difficult shipments. 

Directed work flow of seven shipping floor personnel and $100,000’s of product moving daily through the shipping department using SAP data from manufacturing and sales departments. Ensured customers received products ordered in the correct quantities in a timely and cost effective fashion. Coordinated with shipping personnel, sales personnel, customer liaisons and customers to maintain order integrity. Conduct daily and monthly audits and inventories to ensure the integrity of shipping materials and documentation.

Created Bills of Lading using SAP, ensuring correctness of parts and quantities before printing bills of lading. Ensured materials are packaged and routed correctly according to each customer specifications. Coordinated between truck carriers with window times and dock personnel to ensure timely loading. Created an Access database to ensure customer ship dates and requirements were adhered. Grainger accounts receivable and the Safety Stores. Maintained inventory levels for three separate stores as well as ensuring the accuracy of said inventories. Ran open order reports, troubleshooting and fixing accounts receivable/payable problems as necessary. Fit tested employees for respirators, read prescriptions and fitted employees with safety RX eye wear. Placed purchase orders safety equipment using SAP on a daily basis. Ensured all safety equipment issued met or exceeded OSHA/MIOSHA guidelines.

Cut and Weld Officer/Fire Inspector

Quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to Lieutenant within the first year. As shift Lieutenant, responsibilities included scheduling, payroll verification, preparing quarterly performance reports for the client (General Motors) for a crew of ten personnel. Ensured all personnel conformed to standards and performances set forth by the client. Prepared, edited and submitted all Incident Reports for the shift including any necessary follow-up. Assisted the Captain in all public relations events, ensuring outside personnel (Mayor and his staff, media, etc) were directed to their proper staging areas. Incident Command for any and all emergencies, working hand in hand with General Motors/UAW ERTs. Also coordinated training with ERTs and supervised personnel during said training scenarios. Qualified in fall hazard, HAZMAT, fire and medical emergencies. Made a lateral move to shift Cut and Weld Officer where duties included; first responder to any and all emergencies, solely responsible for inspecting hot work areas and issuing permits as well as follow-up inspections. Promoted to Fire Inspector at the Body plant where I was put in charge of all fire systems. Responsible for inspecting, testing and maintaining Post Indicator Valves, Sectional Control Valves, dry systems, CO2 systems, deluge systems, Infrared and UV sensors in the paint department, fire extinguishers, and hose drops. First responder and Incident Command in all fire and Hazmat situations. Emergency water shut off when necessary. Final approval on all high hazard cut and welding operations.

Solely responsible for the day to day operations of my squadron’s communications department. Encrypted aircraft with IFF, KIT/KIR and Link -11 on a daily basis. Managed squadron communication operations during combat situations both simulated and real. Assigned to the Carrier Airwing Commander and put in charge of eleven squadrons communications departments at night with over 30 personnel reporting directly to me. Assisted the Airwing Commander and diplomatic personnel in drafting an anti-terrorist strike contingency plan enacted into law by President Ronald Reagan. Earned several sea service deployment awards including a good service conduct award.
